My research project will explore the access immigrants have here in the United States to education. The sources of information that I will use include oral interviews of people in the community who have experience with immigrants and education, laws that affect immigrants and their access to an American education, and articles that show us perspectives in the past and the present about immigrants and education in the United States. I will focus on: (1) how education and immigration are two interwoven topics (2) what kind of access immigrant students have to primary education here in this local area and (3) what kind of access immigrant students have to university education with emphasis at the federal level.
